The tour is varied, mostly on well-maintained paths through the Odenwald. The Waldeck and Lichtenklinger Hof ruins are definitely worth a visit. You can get your strength back in Heiligkreuzsteinach.
The tour is a varied route on mostly well-maintained paths through the Vorderer Odenwald – past two castle ruins. After the start, the route takes you through the center of Heiligkreuzsteinach – if you want to stop for refreshments, you can do so here. After the first hilltop, you can already see the Waldeck ruins, which are definitely worth a visit. Via Lampenhain, the route runs along the edge of the Eichelberg to the outskirts of Oberflockenbach and on to Wünschmichelbach. Via Hilsenhain, the tour leads into the deeply incised Steinachtal valley and then steeply uphill towards Stiefelhöhe. On the Heidenberg, it is worth making a detour to the rustic and well-equipped Stiefelhütte. A long path then leads past the Lichtenklinger Hof ruins into the Eiterbach valley. Passing the campsite, you roll comfortably back to the starting point.
