“Around Bromisch” is the credo of the route, which runs through the central Odenwald with many inns and on a family-friendly surface. In addition to the gastronomic highlights, the route also passes various natural monuments.
“Around Bromisch” – This bike tour around Bromisch is characterized by many beautiful views of the districts and the central Odenwald as well as the inclusion of many inns to counteract the dangerous hunger pangs and under-hopping. The tour starts in the center of Langen-Brombach at the fire station with an easy tarred ascent to the Dreimärkerhütte – best views of the Brombach valley guaranteed. Continue past the Bolzwiese and back to Langen-Brombach. This is followed by a beautiful section along the edge of the forest, then past the Drei Birken and after a short descent up to Eichels and on to the Hundsheckenhütte. Passing the Herrenwäldchen, the route leads past paddocks to Kirch-Brombach. After a short downhill to Sattelhof, it’s time for another uphill: over the Kirchberg to Birkert. The route then leads through the village along the district boundary over the Müllert and past the strawberry hut up to Hohe Strasse – the best views of the Taunus and the Spessart are guaranteed. The subsequent descent down the Kuhloch is really fun again, but also negates some of the meters of altitude gained. Passing the Kirch-Brombach cemetery and the golf course, the route then leads over the Galgenberg and the Diebspfad trail to the Hembacher Bach stream and on to Hembach. A short but steep tarred ascent finally leads up to the highest point of the tour, the Heidelberg. Once around the Heidelberg – with great views of the Gersprenztal valley and over to the Neunkirchner Höhe mountain range – then past the former Kainsbach gallows, a traverse to the former landfill site and on downhill to the fish ponds near the hamlet of Spreng. Over open fields and relatively flat terrain, you finally reach the Russeneiche and the route leads over the Sandbuckel back to Langen-Brombach – directly to the “Zum Löwen” inn for a well-earned finisher’s wheat beer. It is then only half a kilometer to the starting point on tarmac. This circular tour leads past several huts, many inns and, with the gallows of Brombachtal and Kainsbach and the Russian oak, also various natural monuments. There are opportunities to rest everywhere and the route can also be “defused” and shortened at various points, so that the whole – sporty – family is sure to have fun here. Rest and refreshment stops: “Zur Mühle” – Langen-Brombach, “Burghof” – Kirch-Brombach, “Gabriels Biergarten” – Birkert, “Zum Felsen” – Böllstein, “Dorfklause” – Böllstein, “Golfrestaurant Brombachtal” – Kirch-Brombach, “Zum Kirschgarten” – Hembach, “Zum Löwen” – Langen-Brombach.
