Northern mountain road Ndl.B

From the starting point in Alsbach, the route leads up through the Hasselbach valley towards Hubertus-Schröder-Blick and on through the Balkhäuser valley past Heiligenberg Castle. After crossing the Stettbacher Valley, the route runs above the Lufthansa training center to the Ober-Beerbacher Valley. Passing the fairytale pond, the route leads up to Hutzelstraße and on to Kuralpe. The route leads over the Balkhäuser bridge to the summit of the Melibokus (517m), the highest point with a wonderful view of the Rhine plain. The following descent runs along a trail in a southerly direction to Zwingenberg. Along the vineyard trail you come to the quarry and up to Alsbach Castle. From there you return to the starting point at Sperbergrund. Refreshment stops along the route: in Steigerts (c. 2km before the Kuralpe) the restaurant “Zum Talblick”, Kuralpe Kreuzhof and Burgschänke Schloss Alsbach (only open at weekends). There is also a small restaurant under the Melibokus plateau, which is open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
